HAPPY FALL! It is time to talk some fall fitness

Sort of mixed emotions about this change of season– I will forever be a summer girl, but, for some reason good ‘ol Ithaca is still 85 degrees and #shweaty, so I haven’t quite put away my summer clothes yet.  I guess I can’t complain.  Either way, Fall or Summer weather, you can do outdoor workouts, so it is time for my (more than) yearly outdoor workout compilation! 

So put your hair up and let’s get to these

 Workout 1: DOOR ROOM HIIT

Heck, you can do this one right now… challenge accepted?

You will start with 20 reps of each: pushups, chair dips, burpees (full burpees, yes), sit-ups, and squats. Then, you will go to 18 reps each, 16 reps each … all the way down to 2 of each.

Workout 2: CARDIO CORE

The two best burns out there! This workout focuses on getting your heart rate up, getting a nice sweat on, and burning out your core.  What else could you ask for?  You will complete 3 rounds of 45 seconds of each exercise listed with 15 seconds of rest between them.  Between each full round rest an additional 1 minute.

Workout 3: SPRINT IT OUT(DOORS)!

This. This one is my absolute favorite. The goal of this is to complete all 5 rounds as fast as possible.  Your rest is up to you, your speed is up to you.  FYI 200m is about equivalent to 1/8 of a mile.  Definitely include me in on this workout via IG if you do it!  TBH I may actually join you if you IG DM me at a convienent time.

Now, for the delicious stuff!

When you finish working out, you ideally want a 3:1 ratio of simple carbs to quickly digesting protein for optimal recovery, click here for more details.  Typically, I consume some sort of plant based shake and fruit.  However, I was playing around with other substitutions this week, and have a fun one for you courtesy of Walmart…
