Staying on Track

The way to reach your goals is simply to stay on the path to reaching them.  But THE VERY FIRST STEP is having a clear definition of what your goal is. Sometimes it helps to sit down and actually write it out– just let your mind go for a few minutes and see where you end up.
Chasing your goals and believing in yourself  is what the YouMakeYou® mindset is all about, but I also want to stress before I continue that this way of thinking is not only fitness and health related. Yes, those are two things that I talk a lot about, but that is what my life revolves around, maybe not yours as well.  This YMY mindset applies to all walks of life– career, relationships, school, etc.

If you want something, anything, it IS yours to take and THAT is what we have to realize on a daily basis. 

Once you define your goal(s), the key is to bring them into your daily life as much as possible.  It is that simple.  The more you think about your goal, the more you work towards it.  And, even better, if you are thinking enough about them on a regular basis, you will  unconsciously factor them into your life as time goes on!

Here are some tips to incorporate your goals into your life to increase this unconscious advantage:

+ Put sticky notes where you go often with reminders, as simple as “YOU GOT THIS!”, or something more complex about your specific goal. PLACE IDEAS: bathroom mirrors, desk, kitchen cabinets.
+Write reminders and motivation in your planner, even better SCHEDULE time to actually work towards your goals or think about them reassuringly.
+Set a small goal each morning that is doable and effective towards your end goal.  Reach that small goal every day and the small steps will eventually add up to a giant leap forward.
+ Recognize your progress.  Give yourself credit for how far you have come, you deserve it!

+ Share your goals and progress with friends (& the YMY army #YouMakeYou).
+Wear some YouMakeYou apparel no better way to inspire yourself and others. It is like a never ending reminder to chase your dreams (except for when they are in the                         laundry…)

I stay on track by: using my IG account for motivation AND inspiration. Looking at photos to see how far I’ve come. Wearing a bangle daily that says ‘Dreamer’ to remind me to dream BIG and focus on my GOALS!
